GT Trax was presented the first ever ‘Green Supplier and Innovation Award’ at this year’s Showman’s Show. The new stand award was launched to recognise the growing demand for sustainable solutions from event organisers, with Chris Johnson, environmental consultant for Kambe Events brought in by organiser Lance Show & Publications Limited to judge the entries.

With 15 exhibiting companies submitting entries, Johnson carefully considered all the applications before awarding GT Trax the overall winner and shortlisting Firefly, MSS and Morris Site Machinery. Commenting on his choices he said: “GT Trax show a complete understanding and commitment to sustainability, and have implemented almost everything it is possible to do, it's impressive and they undoubtedly deserve to be the 2015 winner. The shortlisted companies are all innovating the sector and definitely merit recognition.

“Firefly is a market leader and innovator in sustainable energy provision and they have won numerous awards so they rightfully make the shortlist. MSS’ modular toilet system is truly innovative in the marketplace; 150 toilets, urinals and hand washing on only two articulated trailers, hugely reduces transport requirements. And Morris Site Machinery warrant a mention for their SMC Solar 2 tower light, again a genuinely innovative product which has 'infinite runtime', and is made from recyclable materials.”

Speaking on their win, Graham Crisp, GT Trax’s director said: “We’re honoured to receive this award, we have a genuine commitment to improving the environment. Our products are manufactured using recycled and recyclable material, so even at the end of their life they still have a use. To have our efforts recognised in this way is fantastic and testament to our hard work in this area.”

Johnny Lance, organiser of the Showman’s Show added: “We’ve noticed a growth in the number of exhibitors who are now offering sustainable solutions and wanted to do something to recognise their achievements. Having Chris on board as a judge was an important part in ensuring the credibility of the award and we’re very grateful for his time and support.”
