Lance Show & Publications Limited, organiser of the Showman’s Show, the UK and Europe’s most comprehensive exhibition for the outdoor and special event industry has announced that it will deliver a dedicated stream of workshops and panel discussions for the first time in the Show’s 30-year history. Held as intimate and informal ‘campfire’ style sessions they will bring up to the minute, thought provoking and interesting content to visitors attending the event at Newbury Showground on 19th – 20th October 2016.

Panel discussions will feature experts discussing relevant industry topics such as sustainable initiatives and the effect Brexit will have on the event industry whilst allowing plenty of time for questions and interaction from the audience.  Each session will provide a unique opportunity for event organisers and suppliers to learn from their peers and contribute to the discussion.

Inspirational, practical and educational style workshops will encourage visitors to participate and explore a range of topics currently effecting the industry including legislation, technology, marketing and ticketing.  The workshops will provide an interactive forum for the audience to discuss evolving strategies and tactics and assist them in meeting the challenges that event organisers and suppliers face on a daily basis.

Show director, Jeremy Lance comments: “The Showman’s Show has long been the place to source practical and functional industry staples, whilst also discovering new products and innovations, it is also recognised as an excellent networking platform. Having a dedicated area that brings all of that together in an informal and relaxed setting will only be of benefit to our visitors. We are keen to ensure that the sessions are in-keeping with the rest of the Show whilst delivering something a little different to the event industry.”

To create the ‘campfire’ style atmosphere the sessions will be held under canvas in the main ring at Newbury Showground, with The Tipi Company’s supplier Big Chief Tipis providing the structure and benches for the new area. In addition, NSR Communications will be delivering all AV requirements.

The full programme and speakers will be announced in early September.
