The National Outdoor Events Association (NOEA) will provide a taster of the Association’s forthcoming Training Day, and introduce a dedicated live education session on Thursday 22nd October at this year's Showman's Show.
The session will bring together leading industry experts to explore some of the biggest operational and legislative changes currently facing outdoor events. It will take place in the Meeting Hub and focus on Protect, Martyn's Law, the changing role of Safety Advisory Groups (SAGs) and the increasing operational responsibilities placed on organisers.
At a time when new legislation and evolving expectations are reshaping the industry, the discussion has been designed to provide practical guidance that visitors can immediately apply within their own events.
Bringing together experienced practitioners from across event operations, safety and local authority engagement, the session will offer practical insight from the people already working through these challenges every day. Visitors will have the opportunity to ask questions, share experiences and leave with a clearer understanding of how the changing landscape is affecting event delivery across the UK.
The session also marks the first public step in NOEA's wider Training Day programme, launching in Spring 2027. Developed to provide practical, hands-on education for professionals across the outdoor events industry, the initiative has already secured the support of founding partners GL events UK, Qdos Event Hire and The Showman's Show, reflecting a shared commitment to investing in the knowledge and capability of the sector.
That support demonstrates a growing recognition that learning is becoming just as important as equipment, infrastructure and innovation. As operational requirements evolve, keeping skills up to date is essential for everyone involved in planning and delivering successful events.
For visitors to The Showman's Show, this makes the new session much more than an introduction to a future initiative. It is an opportunity to step away from the exhibition floor, engage with the conversations shaping the future of outdoor events and hear practical guidance from experts working at the forefront of the industry.
The Showman's Show has always been about bringing people together to discover new ideas, products and services. This year, it is also creating space for one of the industry's most important conversations.
If you're planning your visit this October, make sure the Meeting Tent is part of your itinerary. Alongside everything else the show has to offer, this new education session promises practical insight, expert discussion and valuable knowledge that could have a lasting impact long after the show closes its doors.
