Fresh from a Busy Summer, SSL is back with exciting new products and partnerships.
Special Structures Lab (SSL) is delighted to announce its return to The Showman's Show for 2026 following one of its busiest summers to date. The team are looking forward to reconnecting with old faces, meeting new contacts and showcasing a stand packed with innovation.
Introducing RTD — A New Era of Tensile Fabric Design: www.rtd.tools
SSL has spent much of the year helping to develop RTD, a revolutionary new tensile fabric design tool aimed squarely at the needs of the TDS rental market and architects alike. Visitors to the stand will be able to get an exclusive hands-on trial of the software and take a first look at a tool set to change the way tensile structures are designed and specified. The software will be available to purchase online from RTD on the 5th October 2026.
Introducing TensiPower — Portable Solar Solution for Events: www.tensipower.com
TensiPower is an exciting new product developed in partnership with BiPVCo Solar. Built around the industry-acclaimed Flextron lightweight flexible panels, TensiPower is a portable, modular tensile fabric harness that allows lightweight PV panels to be deployed rapidly across a huge range of applications — from large-span TDS event and fabric structures to scaffolding, shipping containers and site portacabins. Simply clip together, strap down and plug into an inverter for instant portable power.
Available in three panel sizes, with a choice of fixing methods and fully stackable on pallets for easy transport and storage, TensiPower offers a lightweight, highly versatile way to harness renewable power — turning the vast expanse of temporary structure roofs across event sites into a genuine source of clean energy.
Joined by the Guild of TentMasters: www.tentmasters.org
SSL will be supporting and joined on the stand by the Guild of TentMasters. The Guild, with ESITS is thrilled to announce that it will be running the first TDS Tent Technician course for stretch tents at the end of September. After two years of development and industry feedback, these courses will set new standards. Anyone looking to upskill their team or formalise their technical training pathway is encouraged to drop by and speak to the Guild or ESITS directly.
