Vision: 2025 has announced future-facing sessions and speakers, reflecting the focus of the Sustainable Events Summit (SES) 2024, at The Showman’s Show, on 23rd October 2024.
This ninth edition is a pivotal year for Vision: 2025, as work begins on establishing benchmarks and shaping sector strategy and a Climate Transition Plan for 2030.
SES is free to attend, bringing together outdoor event organisers, suppliers, local authorities and experts to drive collaborative resource development, industry standards, best practices and innovation to shape the UK Events Industry’s response to the climate emergency.
The Summit opens with an invite-only industry round table session: "Unlocking Potential for Change," bringing together experts in key sustainability topics for a deep dive into Vision’s Climate Transition Plan journey.
Keynote speaker Jon Davis, CEO of Levy UK + Ireland, will explore the role of food and drink suppliers in transforming event supply chains toward sustainable practices.
Jon Collins, CEO of Live Music UK hosts ‘Shaping the Future: A Climate Transition Plan for 2030’, exploring how the industry can thrive while reducing environmental impacts and working with the Government to accelerate change.
Access All Areas Editor, Chris Barrett presents the Essential Industry Briefings “Quick Fire” session on this season’s hot topics at live events. Including; Innovations in battery technology, Developments in food sustainability; How to include disabled people in live event sustainability; Vape capture and disposal at events; and Tools to Tackle Event Travel Impacts.
Chris Johnson (CEO, onboard:earth) hosts, “In the Headlights: Collecting Travel Emissions Data”, putting the collection of event travel data for footprinting in the headlights. John Rostron (CEO, of Association Independent Festivals) presents ‘Best of the Summer”, with guests sharing their green festival success stories from the 2024 season.
The Showman’s Show Green Supplier and Innovation Award sees three shortlisted suppliers present innovations to help events reduce environmental impacts from the supply chain with SES 24 delegates casting their votes live to decide the winner.
