The first Vision: 2025 conference for two years will take place in person at Newbury Showground, 20th October 2021.

In the run up to COP26, the ‘Journey to Net Zero’ conference will bring together trail-blazers from the world of outdoor event sustainability to share knowledge, working practices and look at new products and services to support organisers and suppliers tackling environmental impacts on their journey towards carbon net zero.

Showman’s Show event director Johnny Lance states:

“We are delighted to be hosting the Vision: 2025 conference again. After the enforced break for our industry during the pandemic, it is more important than ever that sustainability is central to our plans to return greener and tackle the climate emergency facing the planet.”

The conference includes exclusive networking opportunities for Vision: 2025 event and supplier members and an open-to-all afternoon programme including a series of industry briefings examining context and new research from leading experts and organisations on; Net Zero, tackling travel impacts, energy technology and bioplastics. A session dedicated to Net Zero, hosted by Julie’s Bicycle, will ask how panel guests are implementing targets within an event context with Q&A for delegates to explore how to take this forward with their own organisations.

In addition, the Powerful Thinking steering group will launch their Campsite Power Resource Pack for events. The conference once again hosts the Green Supplier Awards, in which three shortlisted suppliers, who are exhibiting at The Showman’s Show, with a proven commitment to reducing environmental impacts, will present their innovative new solutions in elevator pitches to the judges and audience, who will vote to decide the winner.

Vision: 2025 chair Chris Johnson says:

“The Showman’s Show is the perfect platform for reuniting the event organising community and a great opportunity for us to get together and explore the changing context, share ideas and new solutions, and re-connect as a community taking action.”
